Help. I need a reliable boat mechanic in the Henderson/Las Vegas area. The Crestliner dealer doesn't want to help me and the guy he refered me to has just rescheduled me for the 3rd time.
I own an 18' Crestliner Fish Hawk with a 90 hp Johnson. The outboard needs a tune up.
I have an electrical issue with the wiring harness coming off my ignition. When the boat bounces in rough water, the system resets and goes through the start up systems check. You can actually recreate the problem at any time by reaching under the steering console and moving the wiring harness.
I also want some one to look at the wiring on my trolling motor.
Geez, all I want to do is go fishing!!!!! _________________ Keith
Good mechanics are hard to find. If I were you, I would get out the yellow pages and call every boat shop in Vegas and ask alot of questions. Maybe you could get one to do it in their own time, who knows.
They are hard to find though, especially good ones. They are out there though...I don't know any here myself. I take my boats to Newport Beach where I know a good marine shop...a long way though. I hate boat problems... _________________

I have a 16ft angler with a 50 horse johnson. The first time i took my new boat out i had the same problem.I called the dealer and they said as long as it is just resetting it self there is nothing to worry about, easy for them to say they didnt have to listen to that dam alarm going off.It was going to be three weeks before they could look at it,so i just went on with breaking in the motor, after two weeks of this it just stopped doing it i have never had that problem again. You never know you might get lucky like i did.It just seems like once you find a good place to take your boat for service it is always week's before they can get you in.

Heyyyyyyyy: Might not be a help but check who manufactured your Johnson. Suzuki Marine made a lot of Johnsons under a lic. agreement. If your Johnson was made by Suzuki see if your local Suzuki dealer may be of service. Jim _________________
