Did you all quit fishing? Did you all go to asleep? It gets a little cold and everyone quits fishing. Well guys, I don't know about any of you but I'm going to catch some fish! When the fishin gets tough, the tough go fishin..... _________________

Rumor has it that I'll finally get a weekend without a snowstorm blowing in. I've had about two months straight of snow on every weekend!
I'm doing lots of planning and research. Soon. _________________ Mark-O

Hey! Don't count me out! I had to go to my wife's family reunion in beautiful Oxnard, CA this weekend. Named after an ox's nards. 1000 miles round trip, my weekend was shot. The previous weekend we were locked in a bitter cold front, and I had a fishing client that wanted me to guide him in his boat. It was a record-breaking trip, five-below-zero was a new record for January 13 in South Lake Tahoe. Brutal conditions, significant equipment problems due to the cold, but we managed to hook some mackinaw on slow-trolled live minnows.
I will be fishing this weekend- I just got a call from a good friend and locally famous charter captain. He told me on Sunday he hooked a huge brown (15-20 pounds), fought it for 45 minutes on 8 pound line, and broke it off at the boat. I wouldn't believe this story from most guys, but Gene has caught ten-pound browns and this kind of stuff happens to him. I'm of course fired up to fish Tahoe again! _________________
I don't know what the rest of you girlymen are doing, but I am still getting out.
I did go out last Saturday afternoon to Cottonwood Cove (windy as usual). Trolled north of the Marina for about 3 hrs....nothing. Talked to a couple of people who went out in the morning...nothing. Still planning on going out this weekend if time permits.
Also, anyone heard if NDOW is going to resume the trout plants this weekend for Lake Mead?

Girlymen????....you are as warped as I am bud. Stoker, since you are fortunate enough to live in Henderson and have quick access to both Willow Beach and Cottonwood Cove, I have a question: Do you find that the wind blows harder and more often in the Cottonwood area as opposed to Willow Beach? Or, is it just my imagination? _________________ Rick Waller
