I caught this 21.6 pounder today on a 12" red sided rainbow minnow at mm 52. It's my biggest so far. My Uncle Franny from Florida was with me. He had a swing and a miss about 15 minutes before I caught mine.
I don't eat fish, and generally release them, so I'm not well versed in fish biology. My Uncle was with me, and helped me filet this one up for FatFishSlayer. There were two sacks of what I believe were eggs. There was also a freshly eaten 7" gizzard shad in its belly. I'm 99% sure we saw some gizzard shad splashing the surface at around mm 50. The current seemed pretty strong with lots of small weeds heading downstream in spots.
Yea I seen that what a bunch oh total retards on there . Bunch of wana be fishermen who don't know anything what so ever!
They can do what ever they want with the fish they catch and should shut their mouth !!! _________________ I'm a peacock , you got to let me fly !
First of all, there are too many stripers in the lake and river and you don't need to release any of them. They multiply like jackrabbits. Actually its good to keep every one of them because it helps to thin them out. It creates a healthier population..... Each striper has millions of eggs. A biologist told me that and he knows....If your not catching them, its because they are where the food is and they travel a lot or just might not be where your at or just not biting right then or your not using a AC PLug....
Second of all: The big ones taste good. A 20 pounder is probably about 4 or 5 years old and a 50 pounder is probably about 12 years old. Give or take a year here and there....I've ate and caught plenty of big ones and they taste just great.
Third of all: All these guys that talk a lot probably have not caught a 10 pounder, so they don't know about stripers or striper fishing....
Third of all:
I've been fishing stripers for over 30 years and I know what I'm talking about!
Oh yea, Carl; that is a real nice one, considering they don't stock. That fish would have easily been over 30 if it was fat.....Congrats, your doing real well guy. Keep up the good fishin ..... _________________
I said it on FB and I'm gonna say it here. Your fish, and a damn nice one at that, it's nobody's business what you do with it. The only negative is if they were still stocking one can only dream how big it would have been. Damn awesome fish nonetheless. Way to go.
Its just a plain and simple case of pure jealously.
When you succeed in catching a real nice one, the jealous idiots come out of their holes!
You become a target
I've had it with these idiots over and over for years....
some sayings of sick, jealous idiots!
he killed the fish
my grandfather had YOUR lure
they don't taste good
your fishing out the lake
I invented YOUR lure
I catch them all the time, but I don't take pictures
