I haven't fished much down there lately. I caught this fish down at mile 43. I was trying my boat out and trying different spots.
Then I noticed a dead fish near shore so I went over and looked. About a 10 lb. striper with another striper down his throat. The one in the throat was around 3 pounds. This is the first striper I have ever seen in another striper in over 30 years of striper fishing.

I found a very small striper in a 2lb stripers stomach once that I caught on Lake Mead.
I could see how the one I found in the stomach could of been mistaken for a small bait fish. But, I never thought Stripers on Lake Mead or Mojave would not have enough bait fish *especially since the gizzard shad population has exploded* that they would start eating there own kind of that size.
Not sure if there are crawdads on the river or Mojave. In all the years I have fished Lake Mead, I have yet to see a live crawfish. But I know they are in there since I have cleaned numerous stripers with them in there stomachs.
Hope they start stocking trout again at Willow. I can totally understand why that striper died trying to eat the striper in its mouth. Those spines hurt like hell to get stuck with.
It seems that 10-15LB Stripers are now what we would call a trophy out of Willow Beach. _________________ "What are the fish biting on?" answer "the end of my line"
I see crawdads in their stomachs for years. They're in Mohave.
Also, those huge stripers eat Carp. I've personally seen 22 stripers over 40 pounds with three to six pound Carp in their bellies.. _________________
