Howard Bryan who I first met when he punched me from the side in a bar in Bishop and who I became friends with for 40 years died of a heart attack yesterday. We fished together and each of us caught a 20 pound brown and an 18 pounder each in my old black boat. He caught 11 browns over 10 lbs. and was a Brownbagger and 12 stripers over 40 pounds...He lived in Bishop, coming from Bakersfield, then moved to Utah and did good painting houses and then moved to Bend, Oregon. He had three kids...he was 64 years old...
and he was a very good fishermen, I have to say....and a very good hunter also...we had frendly rivalries all the time! _________________

Sorry to hear of Howards Passing! I know you and him were close Friends! He was a great Fisherman, Father and Friend to many including myself. I'm glad he got to settle down in Bend! For those that did not know him I am attaching some pictures. KC

Sad to hear. I remember seeing Alan and Howard at the upper twin cafe eating alot and my dad and i would always sit near by to try to listen to the fish talk. Also saw a few of the catches in person when I was a kid. Inspiring for sure the angler was! _________________
